Fermented Rutabaga Pickles with Beets, Day 5
Day 5, and things are happening! Each day I’ve been pushing the vegies down into the brine and doing a taste test. Today I’m getting a bit of a sour in with the salty.
Little bubbles are forming all through the mixture and when they get large enough they come to the surface. See below.
This process has made me decide 2 things; I’m going to plant and grow rutabaga, and the next time I make this, and there will be, I’m going to add a couple of cloves to the jar.
Ok, 3 things, another time I’d like to add sliced ginger.
