Scrap Happy Toiletry Bag for Dad

This month’s Scrap Happy pattern is a toiletry bag for Dad.  Or a zippered bag for anyone.  It’s fully lined with terry cloth, has a full zipper, a hanging tab, AND appliqued with a name.  Or letters.  Or not at all, but why not?

I’m including a GREAT font that I found that’s perfect for the machine applique.  It’s 2 inches tall, bold, with lots of rounded corners.  I’ve even reversed it to make it easy for you to trace and use.  Check it out!  I can think of loads of places to use these letters.

I’ll include my machine applique tips so your lettering is smooth like mine.

I used only scraps and leftovers.  The leg of a pair of hubby’s jeans, a piece of a frayed hand towel, a small chunk of a jelly roll for the lettering and the tab and a zipper. (The zipper was new.)

This is another great project that I’ve designed for my monthly Scrap Happy Class that I teach on Zoom the last Sunday of each month.  This month, May 2022, the class is on the 29th at 10 a.m. my (Toronto) time.  Cost is $5 and includes the complete directions as well as a demo of many of the steps.  Registration closes on Friday May 27th or when it’s full (20 people) , and is done by e-transferring me $5 to

Although I love to incorporate leftover and scrap fabrics, new is good, too.  A supply list will be sent out to participants before the class.

Here’s a link describing last month’s Scrap Happy Session.  It was very successful!

If this interests you, sign up right now, before it fills.  If you just want to purchase the pattern and the full instructions, please e-transfer the $5 to me with a message; “pattern only”, I’ll respond, and send the full instructions right after the class on the 29th by email.  It will be in a PDF format.

I hope to “see” you soon!  And thanks to so many of you that are part of my sewing world.  I am truly living the dream!
