Scrap Pineapple Blocks Zoom Feedback

Pineapple Blocks

We got together on Zoom, and I demonstrated how I make my scrap pineapple blocks using any quilting ruler.  I’m getting the hang of this on-line teaching just wish the technology didn’t sometimes throw pins and needles at me.  Thank goodness for patient students.

Here’s how it worked:

  • My students registered with me ahead of time and prepaid $5 each.
  • I sewed many scrap pineapple blocks in various stages of completion (ripeness, lol) , took loads of photos, wrote a full set of instructions and prepared a PowerPoint of the entire process.pineapple blocks in different stages of ripeness
  • A supply list was sent out ahead of time, in case anyone wanted to (try to) sew along with me.
  • The completed set of instructions was sent out in PDF format along with the Zoom link
  • The morning of the class we connected on Zoom, and it was sooooooo great to see everyone.  Some had “show and tell” to share with us!  Exciting to see everyone’s projects!  I started by showing the Powerpoint, paused for questions, then moved to the cutting table and another camera (which gave me some grief) to show the entire process in real time.  Then back to the computer so I could answer any questions.  We were finished in about 1 hour, so said our farewells, and we were done.

Here’s the Feedback 🙂

  • Another well done zoom class Yvette Matthys Chilcott-Lafosse. Thank you for taking the time and having the patience to work on this pineapple scrappy block for us. Looking forward to trying this technique. Thanks again.  xoxo
  • I add my thanks as well, you are a born teacher as I have told you before, a rare quality! I look forward to making a bunch of these for Christmas…I have also much Christmas fabric to use up!
  • They would make awesome table runners with 3-4 joined together!
  • Yes it was great !
  • Thank you Yvette Matthys Chilcott-Lafosse very nice class!
  • Avatar smiling with arms outstretched in joy, with thanks written above in gold, and golden stars in the background

I’m always relieved when a Zoom class is over and has gone well, and I’d say this one did.  I’ll be back with a new one June 27th at 10 a.m. Trenton (Toronto) time.

Here is a link to the post I wrote after the mini-purse class, it went really well, too!

Perhaps you’d like to join in on the fun, and I’d be delighted to welcome you.  Send me an email to yvettechilcott (at) yahoo (dot) ca.
