One Hour Serger Dolman

.Yes, with a bit of easy prep-work and 2 simple pattern modifications, you CAN make yourself a one hour serger dolman! I taught this at the Toronto CreativFestival last fall and it was extremely popular.  If you are a serger owner wanting to expand your skills, here’s your chance!

I was hoping to teach there in person again this year, but Covid messed up a lot of everyone’s plans.  So, I came up with this as an alternative.  Here’s a downloadable tutorial that you can purchase instead. And, I’m available by email to answer questions!

This is a GREAT way to expand on your basic serger skills!

I’ve expanded on my workshop notes due to a number of requests.  Here is a tutorial that includes my “secret success tools” plus every step from beginning to end.  The link to buy my instructions is at the end/bottom of my post.

A simple 3/4-thread serger is the only machine that’s required for this. If your knit is quite stretchy, you’ll want differential feed.

My instructions assume you own Jalie 3352, you can buy it at  https://jalie.com/jalie3352-dolman-top-sewing-pattern.

It’s a very versatile pattern.  Make it sleeveless for summer, or in a sweater knit for cooler days.

(The pattern is not included here and this tutorial is based on it)

There pattern modifications are simple and are described in full detail.  Your download will include all the details along with diagrams and photos.

Some of my followers needed a full bust adjustment, here’s a link to that tutorial.

Here’s the link to buy the $5 tutorial for my one hour serger dolman.

It’s in a PDF format, so please open it with Adobe Reader, a free download.  Get it here.
