Tutorial Notes for my Eleonore Sew-Along

Finally!  Thank you Megan for the kick in the rear reminder to finalize the tutorial notes for my Eleonore sew-along!

Eleonore Pull-on jeans, the subject of the tutorial

Remember these?  Jalie’s Eleonore Pull-on Jean pattern?

I hosted a Sew-Along with more than 40 people, featuring this pattern, and stated that after the sew-along was finished I would bundle the instructions and offer them for sale.  The 13 chapters of the tutorial notes for my hosted sew-along are finished and combined into one PDF file.  You can download it to save or print it.  There are 18 pages of instruction and LOADS of diagrams and pictures.

You do need to own the pattern, as it’s not included in this package.  You can buy it as a download or as a hard-copy by clicking here.

Here’s what I covered in the tutorial notes for my Eleonore Sew-along:

  1. Supply list
  2. Choosing your fabric
  3. Selecting the right size and printing
  4. Basic alterations
  5. Cutting your jeans out
  6. Twin-needle notes
  7. Personalizing the back pockets
  8. Sewing a trial muslin
  9. Sewing the back
  10. Sewing the front pockets
  11. Faux fly
  12. Inseams and out-seams
  13. Waistband

My appologies if you’ve been waiting patiently.  This file is finally available for you to buy.

My first buyer wrote this:

Just bought the notes for the Jalie Eleonore Pants and what a treasure trove of information it is! I have sewn the pattern before, but now I will know how to really make them fit well. The pattern is a great one, for sure. And with these notes and diagrams and photos, I am ready to make them again — and even better this time (and next time, and next time ….). Thank you so much for all the work you put into this, Yvette. 🙂  from Megan

You can also e-transfer $8 in U.S. funds or $10 in Canadian funds to my email address:  yvettechilcott@yahoo.ca    and I’ll email you the file by return email.

    • Thank you Megan. Yes, it was a lot of work, but after having sewn at least a dozen pairs of Eleonors, and helped a number of others, I knew I had a lot of information to share. It was a work of love, as is most of my sewing.

  2. Hello Yvette. I have quite a few of the Jalie patterns and after reading some of the comments and following you on Facebook I think the best thing for me would be to buy your pdf instructions for that extra insight.
I have gotten back to sewing after quite a few years. Sewing with wovens is easier than sewing with knits for me so I need all the help I can get. Thank you!

    • Thank you Norine! To purchase the instructions, you can click on the link at the bottom of the post which will take you to the purchase page, OR you can etransfer me $10 in Canadian or $8 in U.S. funds and I’ll send you the PDF. Happy sewing!
