Happy Scrappy Valentine Day

Wishing You all a very Happy Scrappy Valentine Day!

It’s a great reason to show some love, and that’s what I’m doing today.  Sending happy scrappy Valentine Day love to my family and friends.  And to you, my faithful and loyal readers.  This little blog has steadily grown and flourished, thanks to you.  You encourage me to show and share my creative side by subscribing to this blog, commenting on my posts and communicating via Facebook and email.

Thank you!

Here in Trenton my family is still sleeping on this glorious sunny day!  The birds and squirrels have been fed, and the driveway is  cleared of the bit of fluffy snow that fell last night.

Scrappy Happy Valentine Day Oven Mitt for Scrap Happy

In case you missed it, I’m hosting a live Zoom class on Sunday February 28th at 10 a.m. (Toronto time) featuring a sewing project that uses scraps and leftovers of fabric. The project I decided on (for this month) is an oven mitt.  Here are some highlights:

  • This Oven Mitt is my own original and copywrite design.
  • This style features a generous thumb that fits everyone.
  • Generously padded at the grip area for safety.
  • Uses scraps and small leftover pieces of quilting cotton, Teflon heat resistant fabric, Insulbrite, and quilt batting.
  • Your cost is $5 (Canadian)
  • Your paid registration includes the live session PLUS the complete pattern and instructions as a PDF document.
  • I’m an experienced on-line teacher (for Stitch by Stitch Kingston) becoming more familiar with Zoom as covid lingers.
  • These Scrap Happy Events will continue on the last Sunday of each month at 10 a.m. (Toronto time).

Why $5?

Here are few reasons;

  • “Zoom” is free in 30 minute increments.  BUT in order to teach these Scrap Happy projects properly I need more than 30 minutes.  A yearly license costs $200.
  • This blog doesn’t come free, there are many costs, including registering “SewWhatYvette” and hosting.
  • Projects are developed by making samples, photos and writing notes.  (So far for this oven mitt I’m working on the 4th one)
  • The instructions take time to write.
  • I understand that there’s some “trust” issues at question here.  I’m asking for $5 in advance.  If you know me, it’s a “no-brainer”.  If you don’t, I understand.  Time will tell.  I have enough new projects in my head to keep this going for quite a while.  Here’s an example of how I write instructions (Pattern for a Scrap-busting Mug Rug)

Registration is done by sending me $5 (Canadian) either by e-transfer or Paypal.  My email address is yvettechilcott@yahoo.ca

If you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter yet, why not do it now?

In the meantime, I hope you are having a WONDERFUL happy scrappy Valentine Day!
