The pants are made using the new, Denyse (#4347). They are easy to make and have an option for shorts.  I did have to raise the rise in this pattern to get the elastic waist to sit at the right place.

I’ve had that flamboyant fabric in my stash for a long time.  It’s a thin draping woven rayon mix and is cool to the touch.  The red in the center of the poppies matches my red top perfectly!

The red top pattern is called Monique, (#4345) and is very versatile.  This version features a fluttery cut-on sleeve and a beautifully finished V-neck.  The fabric is a thin cotton/lycra knit.

There is also a dress length version with inseam side pockets and side slits. Again with the cut-on-sleeve and V-neck.  This fabric is a bit stretchier than the cotton blend that I used for the red version. so the V is a little deeper.

I chose a large print for this version as there are very few seams to break it up.  It’s an ITY that I picked up in the remnant bin at Belleville’s  Fabricland.

This version still features the V-neck, but notice the different cap-sleeve finish?  It’s bound, so sits nicely just below the shoulder.  I used another large-print ITY, this time in black and white, and am wearing it with cropped Eleonore pull-on jeans, also a Jalie pattern.

There will be more pictures and posts from me about Jalie’s 2023 collection, but not right now.  I have a few items cut out and ready to sew, so watch for more from me.

Here are some of the garments in my personal Jalie wardrobe.

  1. Wow! Your sewing of garments is breath taking and certainly suit your figure.
I’m going to look at the Jalie patterns to add to the few I have on hand and use every few months.
