My Sewing Plans

What are my Sewing Plans?

I’m on vacation, so I’m not sewing ANYTHING!  But I think about sewing. And I think about blogging.   I think I’m obsessed about sewing plans.

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be guest posting for Fabricville for Spring 2019 so I chose 2 Burda patterns and some fabric, and as soon as I get home I can sew!  I like the fit of Burda pants, and the variety of tops included in the one pattern spoke to me.  I love the idea of a small wardrobe, and these two patterns could do that.  Fabricville sent it all to me at no charge in exchange for a review/blog post and they’ve arrived.

My Sewing Plan Fabrics

I ordered a stretch twill in white for the pants and a stretch rayon in a lovely flowery print for the top. As soon as I get home, I’ll serge the cut ends together and pre-wash them so the fabrics have been pre-shrunk.  I pre-shrink EVERY  fabric I purchase for garment sewing.  Period.

  1. Looks like you have carefully planned your next wardrobe. Perhaps you’ll need to cleanse your closet to make space. Thanks for helpful hint…washing before making clothes.☺

    • Hello Carol, yes, prewashing ALL garment fabric is very important, gets the shrinking out of the equation. And yes, my poor closet, I’m going to have a “Sample Sale” this spring.
