I’m scheduled to teach a class via Zoom, using this pattern, focussing on the smaller, children’s sizing.  Making my sample was a fun and easy experience.  The Riley Blake cotton/lycra knit fabric was supplied to me by Stitch by Stitch Kingston so I could make my samples and prepare for class. The fabric and pattern will be part of the supply kit.   Here’s the link to the “official description”.

“Kids Knit Pajamas – Zoom

Looking to get comfortable with knits or make a cute holiday gift for a little one? Join Yvette Matthys Chilcott Lafosse in this three part zoom series to sew up a two-piece pajama set from the comfort of your home. Students will learn about sizing, sewing machine stitches for knits, matching stripes, sewing on cuffs and neckbands as well as hemming with a twin needle! Suitable for the confident beginner. Class fee: $40, supply kit purchased separately Class dates: Monday Nov 16, Nov 23, Nov 30 Time: 7:00-8:00 pm”

The fabric was a dream to cut and sew and the pj’s went together quickly, even with me stopping to photograph every step.  The pattern recommends separate ribbing for the cuffs and neckband, but this cute stripe has enough stretch in both directions that I chose to use it instead.

My class will be “virtual”, and will include “live” interaction, powerpoint and video. (I’m practicing making videos, and uploading them to “my YouTube channel“. Here’s a link to my “about me” page where I write about my teaching.

I wish I’d had this JEANNE knit PJ set pattern when my children were small, I would have used it so often that the master pattern paper would have been worn soft.  Suitable for both boys and girls, I LOVE it!  Alas, though, I have no small people in my family at the moment.  BUT, I’m going to make just the top in my size, longer like a nightshirt, and with shorter sleeves.

WATCH for it!
