Watch SewWhatYvette on You Tube

Breaking news!!!!!!

You can watch SewWhatYvette on You Tube!

On-line teaching is a whole new direction for me.  I LOVE to teach in person, and thrive on the interaction in a class or event. (Like here)  Plans were in the works for me to teach in-person classes for a neighbouring quilt store, but Covid kicked that out the door.  But I still NEED to teach.  My head spins in creative ways and I love to share all that stuff.   I’ve been participating as a student, in a couple of Zoom classes with the intent of learning, not so much the content, but how to teach via Zoom on-line.

So now I’m going to teach my first official Zoom class in November, a 3 lesson class; Jalie 2 – pc Knit PJ’s, hosted by Stitch by Stitch Kingston. Using Jalie pattern 4016 (Jeanne) with 28 sizes to choose from, this class will focus on children’s sizes. I designed this 3-week class for a confident beginner, and we’ll cover things like sizing, sewing machine stitches for knits, matching stripes, sewing on cuffs and neckbands as well as hemming with a twin needle.

(More about the class in my next post)

So far it’s the videos that grabbed my attention, which is strange, because I’m not a TV or video watcher in normal times.  But, these are NOT normal times, are they? So I’ve been practicing making videos as I sew general technique samples and demonstrations, and uploading them to my You Tube Channel. Now you can watch SewWhatYvette on You Tube, too.  This gives me a chance to watch them myself and decide if that’s the route I’d like to take.

Here’s the link so you can check them out.

I’d love some feedback please, and ideas for more videos.  (I like making them)  Who knew?  I’ve aready had request for a class on Machine Embroidery, the Basics including stabilizer, hooping, thread, etc.  Subscribe to “my You Tube Channel” if you want to be kept up to date when I publish new videos.
